The local dining scene is a goldmine! Dog & Bull's pies had me drooling, while Spice Express served up curry that hit the spot. Plus, my suite was spotlessly clean and just like the photos.
Check-in was a bit of a puzzle with just a postcode and no house number, but once I sorted it out, the stay was good.

I stayed for 5 nights to explore the local sights and attend a few business meetings. The rooms were both attractive and well-furnished, making my stay comfortable. I really appreciated the cleanliness and how quiet the street was, which made for a peaceful environment despite being close to main transport links. The host was responsive and accommodating, ensuring I had everything I needed during my trip.

Setting was perfect, I didn't want to leave.
Wanted to explore Croydon and this hotel was perfect base for doing it. My room included a kettle and a toaster. Garden view was worthy. Location: the property was next to East Croydon, and the trams, buses, shops, cafes.

The room was inviting with a lovely garden view. Sadly, thick curtains blocked any air during the heatwave.

Totally recommend for a weekend adventure
Attractive rooms, comfortable beds with a restful ambience perfect for recharging after a day of exploring the vibrant local attractions and enjoying the well-equipped kitchen, made early mornings good with breakfast preparations.
Check-in lacked clear instructions regarding the house number, making it slightly confusing initially.

easy access to parks and local attractions for weekend strolls
My stay was a wonderful escape as it was just a short 500-meter walk to Wandle Park, perfect for leisurely walks, and the nearby Museum of Croydon offered a fantastic glimpse into local history that I enjoyed exploring during my city strolls.

A thick curtain prevented airflow during the heatwave, leading to somewhat uncomfortable nights, though the light duvet helped. The nearby party from the neighbors kept noise levels high, but it was manageable. Despite the clean shared bathroom, the firm mattress may not suit everyone, and I felt uneasy due to the owner's aggressive behavior and the old, stained pillows. I enjoyed the delicious gyudon dish from the local eatery .

The room had everything needed, including a microwave, and was clean. I loved that I only shared with one other person. It was a short walk to public transport.
Some facilities were shared, which might not suit everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Rectory Cottage in Croydon. the room and overall building decor were inviting and pleasing. We loved the spaciousness and multiple sitting areas, as well as the lovely garden view. the bathroom shower was great and there was ample storage space. the property had plenty of lighting and the fridge in the room was a nice touch. the hosts were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even allowing us to check in late. We were grateful for the hot beverages provided. Cons: Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like. 😊.
